With a portfolio brimming with photos of expectant mothers, newborn babies, children at play and smiling families, Chris Tobeck has been there for many such priceless moments.
Since the age of nine, the Livermore resident has been an avid photographer. Her childhood home was a menagerie of pets, and these dogs, cats, rabbits, birds and various reptiles became her first subjects – or “little victims,” as she fondly calls them.

As she grew up and began to enroll in photography classes, Chris’s older sisters and friends became her subjects. On vacations, school trips and at social gatherings, Chris was always the girl toting the Nikon camera and capturing every moment for her ever-growing stack of photo albums.

Perhaps the fascination for photography also came from Chris’s mother, whose house has an entire library dedicated to storing her photo albums. The mother of four kids (all under the age of eight), Chris has created her fair share of albums, and the walls of her house are decorated with photos she’s taken of her family. Unlike her mother’s photos, however, most of Chris’s were taken with a digital camera, allowing her to edit and print only her favorites.

In your photo session with Chris, you’ll have a chance to do the same: she’ll create a CD full of the images she snapped, and then you can narrow down your top favorites on your computer before sending them off to Chris to edit.
